A still photograph captures a moment for eternity. The art of capturing the moments is in itself a passion for many and an art which is worth celebrating. In an endeavor to identify and respect this creative skill, we at The Creative Post is organizing the All India Photography Competition in association with Anthelion School of Art (infrastructure partner).

Depending on the skill level, the competition is divided into two categories –

Category 1: Amateur

Theme: An Indian Moment

Entry format: single photo, photo story (two to five images)

Any equipment can be used.

No age restrictions

The Process:

Participant should first read this entire page in detail & with care and then register as per Registration Guidelines below within the Registration Deadline. Then submit his/her fresh work(s) of photography in digital format in the email given below as per Submission Guidelines within the Submission Deadline.

After submission deadline, the result will be declared on this web page only in exactly one month. Top 10 ranks of both categories (Total 20 photographs) will be declared mentioning their ranks. These 20 photographs shall also be invited for Exhibition cum Award Ceremony as a joint exhibition with the Anthelion School of Art. If the winners agree to participate then their photograph will be needed to be printed, framed and sent to us either by hand or by courier in Exhibition Ready condition within a prescribed date that will be provided by us later.

The Participant will need to bear the cost of printing, framing, packing and to-&-fro courier. Enough time shall be allotted for preparation & visit. Prizes & Certificates shall be distributed in the award ceremony during the Exhibition. The photographs can be taken back by the participants at the end of the exhibition or may be sent back through courier after the courier charges are received from the participant.

The Registration Process & Fees:

First fill the form given at the end and then make the payment for the registration fees. You may choose to pay later, if you want to speak with us before paying. Kindly mention your choice of Category (Amateur / Professional) in the form.

Registration fees: Rs 515/-

We have four payment options – PayU Payment Gateway, PayTM QR Code, IMPS/NEFT and Cash Deposit in our Bank Account. Payment Options are at the end of this page.

NOTE: We shall only confirm the registration through email (on the email id provided by the participant) within 12 working days (2 weeks) of the last date of Registration. No interim confirmation through Email / WhatsApp / sms / phone call shall be done or entertained.

The Last date of Registration is 15th February 2020.

The contest is open to all, amateur and professional (as per their category), regardless of age (13 and above), gender, or nationality. Entrants under 18 years of age require the permission of a parent or guardian. By entering the contest, entrants under 18 years of age indicate that they have obtained the permission of a parent or guardian.

No participation will be allowed for people below 13 years of age. In case you make payment, for a person below 13 years of age, Registration will not be done, and no money shall be refunded.

Prizes:

Cash Prize-

  • Amateur – Rs 7,500 (1st); Rs 5,000 (2nd); Rs 2,500 (3rd)
  • Professional – Rs 12,500 (1st); Rs 5,000 (2nd); Rs 2,500 (3rd)

Other Prizes (Both Categories)-

  • Exhibition for top 10 both categories
  • Certificates (Rank & Merit)
  • Memento
  • Special coverage in The Creative Post as an article / story for 1st rank holders of both categories and social media coverage.
  • Paid Contract with The Creative Post for 1st rank holders of both categories for 12 months with full picture credits.
  • Participation Certificate shall be issued to all other participants who would register and send their submissions.

Prizes and rewards are subject to change without notice and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for cash. Note that in the event of a conflict with the laws and regulations of a country, such as those pertaining to exports, or in the event of restrictions on the sale or use of a prize within the winner’s country of residence, the prize may be undeliverable to the winner. In this case, a different prize will be awarded at the discretion of the organizer. Paid Contract shall be issued under professional agreement to be signed by the winner(s).

Submission:

  1. The last date of submission of Photograph(s) is 15th April, 2020.
  2. The participant can submit fresh works up to 5 photos, including those forming photo stories under one registration. If you want to submit more photographs, you may do multiple registrations.
  3. Participant must submit his/her fresh works as per the guidelines through the email to thecreativepost2019@gmail.com with subject line “Submission for AIPC 2020: #Mobile Number used in Registration – #Name of Participant”.
  4. Entry is limited to original works that have not formerly been displayed or exhibited and for which the entrant holds all applicable rights.
  5. Works that have won prizes in other contests or that have been submitted to other contests currently underway, including similar works, are not eligible. Even works that are entered in other competitions after submission to this contest will be regarded as having been submitted to other contests currently underway.
  6. Works that are identical or similar to another submitted work (identical or similar works) as well as works including identical or similar works submitted as separate works are ineligible for submission.

Note: “Identical or similar works” refers to the following works:

  • a work produced from identical image data,
  • a work produced by cropping or retouching identical image data to alter it,
  • a work produced from similar, though not identical, image data as described above (e.g. a frame from the same series of shots, photography conducted at a different date or time yet producing the same result, or a work otherwise deemed to be similar).

Submission Guidelines:

  1. Image data files created with any device capable of taking still images, including smartphones and digital still cameras (including medium and large-format digital cameras).
  2. Images that have been retouched by using camera apps, photo editing apps, other software, etc. will be accepted.
  3. Both color and monochrome images will be accepted.
  4. File size: up to 20 MB of image data per work
  5. Image-data file format: JPEG/150 dpi recommended
  6. The standard color space for the judging process is RGB.l

Note: Winners might be asked to provide higher resolution images for publication or display purposes related to the contest.

 

Judging & Result:

The result of top 10 photographs for both the Amateur & Professional Categories will be released in this web page on 15th May, 2020 in the order of the ranks. The winners (1st, 2nd & 3rd of each category) and other merit holders shall be invited for Exhibition at a later date where the prize distribution will be held. This program will be held in the later half of the year in Kolkata. Once the date and venue are finalized the top 10 of both categories shall be invited with enough time in hand.

The decision of our judges shall be final.

 

Notification to Winners:

After the judging concludes, the winners will be notified via email sent to their registered email addresses by 20th May 2020. The results will also be published on the web page on 15th May 2020.

No interim communication shall be done or entertained.
