Autumn is a wise season.

Who doesn’t know what it
takes to be shorn off all that
build your identity- like its
leaves for a tree; the lush
foliage once admired, home
for the birds turning bald and
barren at a clockwork precision.
And in autumn I will have answers
to questions you never asked,
thinking it is too late to know, if
what we felt had the name ‘love’.
And I will remind you of all those
moments of submission quite in
the fashion of an autumnal leaf,
as keen, inevitable, pure in its fall.
As shorn off all externalities.
