The Tree

If you ask what it means to me,
its effervescent greens, tapping
the lights like a child’s play,
emitting purity in its breath,
its serrated dark brown- faithfully
serving as a wall to the tired travellers.
looking for a leafy shade, its roots
knowing the depths intricately;
I can only say, I wish being a tree
defining freedom in an altruistic way.
