Rebirth

Rebirth

(Reading Time: 2 min Approx)

I’ve got back my boyhood,

I can again run a mile,

I’ve my innocence reclaimed,

With no further room for guile.

I sit on a stone for hours now

Looking idly at a flowing brook,

How I find unbridled Joy

In every turn, at every nook!

I enjoy walking in the woods now

Or pedalling my way thru’ a country road-

I take the one less travelled by,

With none to guide or goad.

The confines of my home

Imprisoned me for far too long,

Oh! I’m a free bird again

Learning anew to sing a song!

Nightmares no longer wake me up

I dream sweet dreams again,

Fresh like a dew I feel in the morn

With no trace of sorrow or pain.

Oft I wilfully stay awake

To soak in a still night-

I feel glee to be reborn again,

Confident of a future bright.
