The Strokes 2019-20 – Second Annual Show of Anthelion School of Art

Anthelion School of Art organised their second Annual exhibition, ‘The Strokes’ from 10th to 12th January 2020 at the famous Jamini Roy Gallery, ICCR, Kolkata. The exhibition ran for 3 consecutive days and can predominantly proclaim itself as a huge success for its over 44 students who took part in this exhibition with their vibrant and exquisite artworks.

It was the most interesting and satisfying conversation with an artist so far as Mr. Subrata Paul held an unassuming air and carried a kindhearted personality which encouraged my inquisitions. His ethereal sculptures are a must see. I can guarantee that people of all generations will find themselves enamored once they witness his artworks face to face.

Of Art and Abstraction

My poems are usually reactionary – meaning I write in response to incidents or scenes, or evens that move me or through me in a way that requires immediate outburst. I edit and re-edit my poems; then try to redesign the scratched-out portions into interesting artwork much like Tagore! My poems are therefore infrequent compared to my artistic pursuits. The creation of a painting or piece of art is a far lengthier process.

In Search of Shambhala

A young artist had come here all the way from Bengal, sat with his steaming glass of tea, taking in the serene grandeur around him. He had come to Naggar that very afternoon and was out for a stroll on the roads that snaked their way across the hill town. This is where he met a foreigner who is in quest of Shambhala.
